This program was built and designed to be useful for all levels of construction employees – from entry level workers to junior and intermediate project management supervisors. The Construction Technology program provides learners the opportunity to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in preparation for a career in building construction and associated businesses. Principles involving new construction, remodeling, renovation and repair work for residential and non-residential construction are presented. Program graduates find employment opportunities in skilled trades, building construction supply, general contracting, subcontracting, and building construction industry regulation. Often graduates obtain appropriate licenses and become self-employed contractors.
This program will give you the knowledge and skills necessary for job success either as a self-employed business person, or as an employee in home improvement centers, plumbing, survey and missionary contractor, civil-construction trades, or many other phases within the construction industry.
The Construction Technology program prepares students for technical careers in the building, foundation, bridge, transportation facilities, nuclear and conventional power plants, construction industry. These careers may be in new construction, restoration, renovation, remodeling, additions or services in residential, commercial, institutional or industrial construction market areas with an emphasis on sustainability. This program will be of particular interest to sub assistant engineer, site engineer, surveyor, project managers, superintendents, estimators and owners of construction companies. The curriculum is focused on meeting industry standards for producing competent graduates.
